What is a Diorama?

A diorama is a little 3-D scene inside a box. It shows a place or a moment in time, using cut-out pictures, colours, and small objects. It’s like creating your own tiny world that you can look into.

About This Activity

In this activity, children create their own “Happy, Safe Space” diorama. They choose pictures, colours, and shapes that make them feel calm, protected, joyful, or brave. By building a small world that feels good inside the box, children practise identifying their safe feelings and what helps them feel grounded. It’s creative, and fun — and they get to keep their special place with them.
